March marked the annual release of Campaign Brief’s Agency Creativity/Billings Index. Also known as the ‘Hot+Cold Chart’, it gives the industry a look at where Aussie agencies sit relative to their size (the vertical axis) and creativity (horizontal axis). The chart is a great snapshot of the creative landscape to see how agencies stack up against each other.

And we’re chuffed with our position: about one-third up the chart with many other mid-sized agencies, but three-quarters to the right among some of the country’s hottest shops.

Edge hit the charts in 2018 with a solid start in the creative rankings and now has a 2019 position that’s creatively ‘hotter’ than last year; a serious nod to the work we’ve done over the past 12 months and the new client brands we’ve taken on.

Edge’s Executive Creative Director, Matt Batten said, “It’s a great result for the agency. We’re the little engine that could – and does. We’re ranked as creative as some of Australia’s well-known agencies (R/GA, Leos, Clems) but tend to fly under the radar a bit because of our size and the fact that we’re an indie. That’s what makes us work harder for our clients and, in return, keeps us moving in the right direction (up and to the right) of the Hot+Cold chart each year.”

Edge’s position on the chart comes amidst new business wins including Wattyl, Virgin Money Australia, BASF and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and follows new creative campaigns for Nulon, Donut King, Suncorp, Aussie and Mitre 10.
