Jiyan has worked across print publishing, television, social media and digital publishing. She loves being able to write, edit and create every day. Jiyan believes two things shine through all the grit – great ideas and even greater content.
Who would play you in a film and why? One of my two little sisters. They know me better than anyone, and I feel like being portrayed in a film would be very... personal. Plus we'd get to hang out together all the time and take long 'working' lunches. All in the name of research of course.
If you were planning a music festival, who – dead or alive – would be your headliner? The Avalanches, definitely. They have been on my Spotify playlist on a constant loop for weeks. I can't help it - I'm getting obsessed all over again.
You're given an airplane ticket to anywhere in the world – where do you choose to go (and why)? Straight to South America. I've been to a few places, but I want to road-trip around the entire continent. More time in the Patagonian ice fields would be nice too. And Brazil of course. Bring on Carnival!
What's your favourite memory? It should probably be something meaningful, or at least something I remember clearly, but most of my favourite memories involve food, way too much wine and all my best friends together.
Who is your inspiration? Elizabeth Bennet. She had brains, conviction, courage, she read constantly, and she's always there, sitting on the shelf, whenever I need a pick-me-up.
You're on a desert island – what album have you brought with you? The most recent Like A Version compilation. I love a good cover.
What would be your death-row dinner? An all-you-can-eat cheese board. Brie, camembert, blue and everything in between. With crackers, of course, and wine. Lots of wine.
